BACnet COV Notifications in I/A Series R2: Learn Device Objects as Full Objects

Issue

When using BACnet Change of Value (COV) notifications in I/A Series R2, device objects learned as lite objects do not allow viewing or modifying the covIncrement property at the UNC.

Cause

BACnet lite objects are designed without the covIncrement property. If COV notifications are configured and adjustments to covIncrement are needed, changes must be made directly in the controller using WorkPlace Tech, followed by recompiling and downloading the application.

Resolution

To ensure the covIncrement property is accessible and editable from the UNC:

1. In BACnet Service → BACnet Utilities, open the LearnDevice window.
2. Uncheck the option Use lite objects before learning the device.
3. This will create full BACnet objects, allowing the covIncrement property to be viewed and modified directly from the UNC.
