Hi there,
Usually my company have been using the register addresses %I0.2.0.0, %I0.2.1.0,... for digital inputs, and the OPERATE blocks for analog inputs using e.g. the ST command DAEI03_straumtaka._CH_VALUE:=%IW1.0.2;. In my project, it seems like I cannot use these %I addresses, but instead I have to use EIO2_d1_r0_s2_DDO6402K.DIS_CH_OUT[0].VALUE;
My question is: Do I have to use these array values? Is this something new in Control Expert? How can I be able to use e.g. %I0.2.0.0 instead of array struct names?
In the image below, you can see the red underline error. I would like to get rid of that, but don't know how.
In another project I have, there is no red underline error as you can see in the image below
The device DDT of the DI unit in my project is shown below
and the device DDT in the other old project I have is as follows
I'm wondering how I should use the DI, DO, and the AI units and i'm not sure if I am doing something wrong or not.
Here is the PLC I am using in my project
and for the other project:
Best regards,
Grétar Már

Hey ajordan,
Thank you for the answer! When I remove one module and want to add it again, it is not possible for me to choose between Topological or Device DDT addressing as you can see in the image. It looks like I have to use the Device DDT I/O data type.
P.s. I am using Modicaon 580 HSBY.
