Device (BCPM) name changing in PME/SQL
Hi,
Recently ran the approved script in SQL Management studio (PME 2023) to change the group.name of a BCPM device, both device name and display name.so basically changed the device name in SQL and PME.
this worked fine and name changed successfully, but when i navigate down to the individual logs from a single channel of the BCPM, it still displays the old name?
Could anybody advise why this is, and if possible how i can rectify this.
Once data is logged in the database, the device name is fixed unless there are actions to change the name. Likely the script you were using has hard coded instructions to change name of a specific source, rather than changing the names of all sources that contain X. BCPM device driver has built in syntax to take device name and generate additional sources, !!device_name!!_PNLYY_CHZZ@XXXXXX. Where XXXX, YY ZZ could vary depending on the register.
Likely the script used is very speific and looks for Old Device name only, not devices starting wih Device name. Replacing names would be a little more tricky and likely would need to use more complex commands than simple replace AAAAA.BBBBB for CCCC.DDDDD.

Charles
