How to configure Sequence of events in plant scada

We are in the process of replacing two third-party HMIs with Aveva Plant SCADA and will be supplying two new Aveva Plant SCADA HMIs.

The existing SCADA system currently stores time-stamped events, and the customer has requested that we provide the same functionality in the new Aveva Plant SCADA system.

We have configured PLC-to-SCADA communication using OFS, and communication with the PLC is established.

Could you please advise on the best way to display time-stamped events in Aveva Plant SCADA? Additionally,

Is there a standard event management feature available in Plant SCADA, or could you provide a step-by-step procedure for implementing this functionality?

Hi @Sesa460428

The latest version of Plant SCADA has project templates that include pre-built pages for alarm display, including Sequence of Event functionality (SOE).

The first step is to create an alarm for the points of interest in your system. E.g. pump starting, valve opening, etc. You need to define the name, type, category, etc.

See this section for more details: https://docs.aveva.com/bundle/plant-scada/page/1068415.html

Once the alarms are defined, the operator of the system can navigate to the alarm page (active alarms) or the SOE page, to see the alarm state changes and details.

If using equipment, you can also make use of the SA Templates, which have functionality to open trends, alarm views when selecting equipment on the display. See the ExampleSA and run it for some demonstrations of these features.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist.

Kind regards

Olivier
