Hello everyone,
I need some guidance on how to add a new user to connect to the Citect Web Client. The Web Client is already installed and running, but I am not sure about the correct procedure to register or enable a new user/device to access it.
Do I need to configure something in Citect SCADA (Computer Setup Editor, user accounts, etc.)?
Or is it only managed through Windows/Active Directory credentials and licensing?
Are there any specific steps in IIS or licensing setup that I should follow?
Any detailed procedure or documentation link would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Could you clarify which version of Plant SCADA (formerly known as Citect SCADA) you are using?
If you are using the legacy Web Client (deprecated/removed in Plant SCADA 2023), please understand that it is no longer supported.
I will answer your questions based on the assumption it is the legacy Web Client (ActiveX control used in browser).
1. Yes you will need to configure what user accounts can access the Web Client, this is done the machine the hosts the Web Server. This isn't done in Plant SCADA Studio, but done view Windows folder security settings and further configuration is done via the Web Broswer. See the Web Client Quick Start guide for more information.
2. Yes, access levels is done via Windows security (I believe it can support Active Directory or Domain and Workgroup for local user accounts). Licensing is done the same way as it is for thick clients or regular clients.
3. Yes, there are many steps to follow to setup IIS (when setting up for the first time) and licensing. This is help, see section "Plant SCADA Web Client" - https://gcsresource.aveva.com/plantscada/WebHelp/plantscada2020R2-oct-2022/Content/Web_Client.html
I won't sugar coat it, the Web Client takes a fair bit to setup and get going. On the client side, where the Browser is located, you also need settings to allow it to download a CAB file, which contains the ActiveX control, and install it.
The better option today, is to make use of Plant SCADA Access Anywhere, which is a true HTML5 (Remote Desktop) experience.
