Hi @yuzl ,

Plant SCADA 2023 R2 does certainly have a OPCUA Server, which is part of the "AVEVA Connectivity Service" that runs on the machine. It is optional to install, so if it isn't present, you may need to run the installer to make sure it is added and installed properly.

The first step is to run Configurator, to define the port number, whether encryption is enabled or anonymous access is allowed.

See the help topic for more details:

https://docs.aveva.com/bundle/plant-scada/page/1037376.html

You'll need to copy the OPCUA Server certificate to the client machine if using encrypted communications.

Let me know how you go and if you have any specific questions.

Kind regards

Olivier

Hi @yuzl ,

Yes, Plant SCADA 2023 R2 does have a OPCUA Client driver. Please see the following help for more details:

https://docs.aveva.com/bundle/plant-scada/page/843695.html

It is a bit more involved in terms of setup and configuration (especially if setting up secure connection).

Let me know how you go and if you have any specific questions.

Kind regards

Olivier

Hi @olivier_vallee ,

Thank you for your response. It appears that there may be a slight inaccuracy in my original question. I am already familiar with the OPC UA Client driver. What I aim to achieve is configuring Plant SCADA 2023 R2 as an OPC UA Server, thereby enabling communication between the OPC UA Client and the server.

Hi @olivier_vallee , Thank you. I have already addressed the task and successfully verified the functionality of the OPC UA Server. Additionally, could you please confirm whether the OPC Server supports hot standby? For my project, which involves a hot standby server and standalone client, should I consider implementing a hot standby mechanism at the OPC UA Client level? Kind regards Yuzl

Hi @yuzl,

The Plant SCADA OPC UA Server does not support hot standby capabilities. It is stand alone. But you can install and setup multiple OPC UA Server's in your system, each on different host machines. If your OPC UA Client supports some redundancy mechanism, and you can provide the End Point URL for each Server that is providing data, it should work well.
