Hello,
I am using Plant Scada 2023 R2 and I would like to configure an option to operator to set the analog alarm limits in runtime and in a client station. Detail, I am using the deployment to distribute the project. In the older versions I used to edit the anaalm.dbf file in the server, but it is not working anymore. Any suggestion?
Thankyou

Hi @mcintra,
Allowing Operators to configure alarm limits requires some special setup and configuration.
It can be done, but you need to understand the process.
Please take a look at the parameter [Alarm]UseConfigLimits:
https://docs.aveva.com/bundle/plant-scada/page/1057820.html
Please also note:
Setting this parameter to 1 can result in complicated scenarios if you are writing to alarm properties at runtime, deploying project updates, or running redundant alarm servers. It is recommended that you carefully consider the impact of this parameter in these scenarios within your system setup and test its impact on a runtime system before you implement it within a production facility.
I would recommend testing this thoroughly on a test system (before rolling out to production) so that you fully understand how it functions, the limitations, and failure modes.
Kind regards
Olivier

Hello,
I am just a beginner in Plant SCADA, this is a good question, i also waiting for someone to reply.I asked CHATGPT, and it said that I can't write an alarm tag, but I do not trust it.
I want to ask also how I can read the current limits in runtime and display them to the operator.
