If I would like to set up a new Citect SCADA station based on an existing project (Citect 2018 R2). The new station will use the same I/O tags and data source but will have fewer graphic pages—so it needs to be a separate project file with some pages removed.
Here are my concerns:
Is it possible to run two Citect project files (the original and the trimmed-down version) while sharing the same I/O server and tags?
The only available client licenses are for Citect 2023. Can a 2023 runtime client license work with a project developed in Citect 2018 R2?
Any insights or best practices would be greatly appreciated.

To answer our questions,
1. Yes, it is possible to run a cut down project while sharing the same IO and tags. The main project (call it the server) will need to be defined in the project. Then on the client project, this same project, but with reduced pages. The use of "Include Projects" can help facilitate this and make maintenance of the project easier (think of an include project as a container for certain config).
2. Yes, a 2023 runtime license can work with an older product version, as long as that license type existed in that previous version (Sentinel USB is the most common and widely supported).
