single outlet surge protection for international travel

my needs are small. in fact, the smaller the better. i just need a single outlet surge protector for anything electronic while i travel in other countries. i can get adaptors for their outlets, in fact i already have a bunch. but the key is i want to travel with the least amount of cables, adapter, bricks, etc. so if i could get a single outlet surge protection, i know my ipod, cell phone, etc will be safe. simple and small, that's all. apc doesn't have anything like that now (i've tried and fried one adapter), so do you have any plans for the future?

the link you provided is the unit i bought and fried.
i was told upon my return to the states, that unit was not meant for non-u.s. use (although there is no such limitation on the packaging or the paperwork included). apc did replace the unit. but apparently i cannot use it when i'm not in the states.

the other units you list, at least for a couple i searched for must not be available in the states. "Sorry, there are no part numbers available in your region which are similar to the one you entered. Please go back and check your entry." i'm guessing by the part number, they would be available in the uk, spain, germany, france? but i usually am in the far east, and in different countries with different outlet configurations. a separate surge protector for each country (assuming there is one available for each one) does not fit the less is more philosophy. this doesn't seem to be the answer. did i miss something? appreciate your input.
