power went out for no reason

Hi
My UPS just turned computer off due to blackout 😐 What's interesting, power didn't go out. I turned it back on but it turned it off again. Very strangely, things plugged in to SURGE PROTECTION ONLY outlets KEPT WORKING!
What is going on?

The reason why I think it's messed up is because I have two units running on two computers and they are both set up identically the same and one of them turned the computer off and the other one didn't...
Another thing is it didnt let me turn it off because it was beeping that there is no power.. when i was home listening to the radio.. which is plugged into the same UPS (surge protection only outlet) that says there is no power...

On the back of the UPS you have you should be able to locate a white sticker that has the model number and serial number information. Post that here so we know what kind of UPS we're dealing with.

Have you installed any UPS monitoring software on your computer?

When the blackout occurred did anything else in your home go out? Alarms, Microwaves, etc.

BE350R - is that it?
And no, nothing else went out. As I said, even stuff plugged into surge protection was working......
I use software Powerchute personal edition.. got it from CD with UPS.

Can you remove whatever is currently connected to the unit, and plug in a small device such as a radio or alarm clock into the battery backed up outlets.

After doing that pull the plug on the back-up and see if the radio or alarm remains on. If it does not it might be that a dead battery is causing you to lose power. Even though the blackout wasn't long it might have been just long enough for the unit to try and switch to battery, and if there was no battery power to then power off.
