it does not happen to often but when it does it keep on click off and on--most annoying esp when trying to sleep-- it happen both time when computer is on and off--- so i gluess it has to do with power- but funny thing is when power blink-- my clock most time will blink to but it does not--

and why battery does not come on when power is low-- no idea-- i have had battery come on and run computer-- but more chance then not after it start blinking off and on-- my computer just power down- and i have a hard time get it to start again -- as it try then boom it boot down-- like there no power--- and no the battery in my backup is still the same one that came with ups bf500

Sounds like you're having a bit of dirty power at night for some reason. That'll cause the unit switch to battery and back to online if it keeps varying between good and slightly bad. The UPS is just doing it's job to filter the power.

I'd maybe try the UPS in a different outlet for the night and see if it just relates to that.

Also, your computer dropping is probably just due to your battery being weak after so many "on battery" instances. However, if you've never changed the battery, it may be time to do so as that model is relatively old.
