I have very little knowledge about electrical wiring and am a bit confused as to where I should connect the ground wire for the PNET1GB. I'm using a laptop and don't seem to have anything in my room to attach the ground wire to. Is it okay to connect the wire directly to the ground in a wall receptacle or are there adapters that would allow me to plug into the ground in the wall receptacle and attach the ground wire. Not sure if it would even be safe to connect it like that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I came across surge protectors which have a ground lug:

Would this be ideal for my situation?

usually you'd attach it to the ground screw on the back of a UPS. i am not 100% sure if you could just attach it to the screw in the middle of a receptacle because of the plastic there but thats what i have seen for two prong to three prong adapters.i dont think it'd be a good idea to wire it into the prong. not sure if anyone else has any insight.
