cant connect to UPS

I have a smart UPS SUA1000.

I want to modify a copy of parameters (voltage trip point, voltage output etc)

Windows xp, downloaded business edition 9.5 of powerchute (did try personal first but that did not connect to UPS).

Now i have got powerchute installed, the only option is a web page to open app ?

Interent explorer, says it cant connect.

No firewall.

connected via USB lead (which verified it could connected to UPS on installation)

why is this so difficult ?

Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please verify that the PowerChute service is running. To do so open a command prompt as an administration and enter sc query apcpbeagent The state should be running. 

If the service is running open IE and enter https://127.0.0.1:6547 You will need to select continue to this web site and then enter the user name and password once the site launches. 

If the site is not available try a different web browser entering the same address of https://127.0.0.1:6547

ok, it was internet explorer.

once i used firefox and ignored warnings it opened.
