I had a PC running windows xp with BE350R and personal powerchute v1.5. Now I bought a new PC runnning windows vista home premium.
I loaded Powerchute Personal v1.5 onto the vista machine. I'm not sure that it installed correctly. I think that the compatiblity assistant made it install.
It seems to running OK except it shows battery at 100% but less than one minute of run time left.
Now I bought a new BE500R and I downloaded personal powerchute v2.1.1 for windows vista.
But when I try to install a popup window says "This operating system is not supported" and if I try to uninstall v1.5 from the control panel i get a popup
window that says "unable to find the required service pack".
How do I uninstall v1.5? My guess is that the installer for v2.1.1 is confused when it sees v1.5 runninng.
I have the original v1.5 CD but it does not seem to have an uninstaller.
update: I ran the v2.1.1 installer again. now i get a popup window that says to uninstall the old version before v2.1.1 can be installed. But how do i uninstall v1.5?

PROBLEM SOLVED!
I don't know what i did differently, but this time when i put the v1.5 CD in the drive, it allowed me to uninstall v1.5. Then, I was able to successfully install v. 2.1.1 from the download. BTW my BE500R did not have software for windows vista. It came with V2.0 for windows xp.

Hello,
Glad to hear the problem is resolved. PCPE for Vista was recently released, and is not shipping on CD's yet, since it does not support the other platforms.

I have a similar problem... I have a BE500R which had been running on a Windows XP system. I just bought a Vista but installed the v1.3 before I realized it wasn't compatible with Vista. Now I cannot uninstall that and don't know the link to the proper installation for Vista. Can you also walk me thru about the Registry keys as I don't know how to enter those, once provided. Please respond to rodentcat@aol.com. Thanks.
