back ups advice.

Hello

My UPS died and i replaced it with a BackUPS that was in another location.

I have tried but there are some things i had lived with not sure i can get them here.

1. I used to get 6 + hours on the previous 900w UPS for some of my stuff a router and switch would usually wind down the session. How can i calculate this from my battery Ah value for a back ups 1500

2. I usually switch off everything at 10pm and auto start at 5am  i had achieved this by having the ups start on power restore and achieve power restore using a smart switch on a schedule. I did not see an option to start on power restore on powerchute serial. Also did not see an option to switch off the UPS

3. Can i give the UPS the AH of the attached batteries for it to calculate how long it can last?

4. I bought a usb cable and after a few uses it just died and tells me unknown device. What could be issue cable or port before i buy another cable

You’ll need to provide a lot more information as to the specific APC UPS model that was used vs what’s in place now as a starter. 👍

You’re free to discuss whatever you like but understand there may not be very many specific answers given.

Since the unit is a third party UPS and we may not be familiar with all the features and possible options.

Regardless, asking is free so ask. 👍

Ok it was a triplite ups setup with their software called Powerchute connected via Usb cable.

I had configured it to power up on power restore it had an option to power down the ups and connected devices with a timer so all i had to do was switch off power before timer finished and if i restored power the ups would auto start.

The serial app is missing this feature

I cant switch off the UPS from the software

In case of power loss i could reserve power by switching of ups when i dont need via software if power came back ups would power up if i wanted to use i manually turn it on. Loved this since i could turn it off  when not at home get home tun on and work for a bit before totally draining UPS.

So i ask are this available esp the ups swith off capability
