asking for some informations from a young owner
Hi everybody, i'd like to ask you here some infos and knowledge about Back-UPS, since i'm young and neither i'm an electrician.
i own an APC Back-UPS 950 and i use it to protect my desktop computer (that i use for gaming)
since i've got a black-out recently at home (happens very rarely) i started asking myself if all the settings were right.
for example, surfing around in the personal powerchute software & paper manual, i noticed that there are 3 GRADES of sensitivity: low/medium/high, that i'm able to set both from the software or manually with the button on my UPS, am i right?
the manual says to set to "high" for devices that are very sensitive to power distortions and sinusoidal wave (???). so i need to ask you if that's my case: are computers (+ monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers..) sensitive and is it better if i set it to High Sensitivity? (at the moment it is on Medium, as default, the software says) or it'd be useless and worse being so excessive? since i want to protect my computer as best as i can, since internal chips such as graphic card and processor are really expensive and they fry easily.
i hope you'll help me; please forgive me since i'm not english if i made any mistake 🙂
