Hello--
I know most of you may ask "Why do you stil use this??" I happened to run across it at a "thrift shop" without a battery for $8. Knowing that my small cs-350 can't backup my current system, I decided to get it and try it with a spare good battery I have. Now, I have read stories here on this website and on other places that some of the LED's will start flashing, and will just turn off, and the solution was that they were still under warranty and to send them in. That was many years ago, and this thing is way out of its warranty. However, I am not having that problem. The problem I have is that the thing won't even turn on. No beeps, no lights, nothing, except for the wiring fault LED on the back flashes when it is plugged in, which is an indication that the surge part of it still works. I have tried it with one battery plugged in, nothing, then tried with 2 batteries hooked up in parallel, and still nothing. Is this unit junk, or can it be saved? I don't have money to buy a new one, or send it in for repair.

I don't think so on the bracket. I know the batteries look like this (APC Replacement Battery Cartridge #32) and then I believe it just kind of sits in the battery compartment.

That seemed to fix it! I was only applying 12v to the unit, when it is supposed to have 24vDC. I got it to turn on with and without it plugged into AC. As for the wiring fault LED, it only flashes once as soon as it is plugged in, and it stays off. As for the UPS, it lives!!! Also, is there supposed to be a bracket that holds the two batteries together or...? All mine has in the battery compartment are two leads coming out of the side of the case, no unpluggable thing
