Hi,
My XS 1500 is about three years old. Just in the last few days the fan has frequently been coming on for several seconds. Currently my battery indicator shows it's empty, is flashing, and will not charge. The unit is beeping as well. I checked the load capacity and there is only one bar (12%). I can't use the PowerChute software due to having an Intel based Mac. Does anyone know what is going on? Any help will be great. I have tried looking things up on the net and haven't found anything yet.
Thank you.

Hi Daniel,
A flashing battery indicator means that the UPS has a disconnected battery problem. This can sometimes be caused by a bad battery or a faulty unit. If you do have another UPS that has the same battery you can swap them first. I would also suggest to call our APC Phone Support to verify the warranty of your unit, if you are still covered we might be able to send you a battery or a UPS. This would depend on the recommendation of the Tech after further troubleshooting has been done.
