Which surge protector to use?

I am uncertain as to which surge protection I need for pc with dsl modem and LCTV with Dish DVR. For the pc. how many phone outlets do I need so that I can use pc and phone, with 1 phone line. For tv, the DVR must be connected to phone line, and I am using an adapter to do that. Which model should I get for the computer, and which one for tv. Appreciate suggestions, Thanks

it sounds like you need something with a telephone splitter.
