This is my very first UPS.
I have two devices plugged into the ups:
Add'l Note: I don't have Airconditioning in my room. Battery is fully charged I think.
I don't have a device to measure the temperature of the UPS, but when two of my devices are on, the heat when I touch is also similar when the devices are off. I bought the UPS just five days ago. Is this thing normal? or should I feel a little bit concerned?
Thank you.

The heat you feel is almost certainly normal. Portions of your APC UPS are powered any time it is plugged into a working outlet, including the battery charger circuit. Even if the battery is fully charged, the unit's circuitry isn't quite 100% efficient. Some small amount of electrical energy (usually about 8-10 watts, maybe a bit less) is lost as heat.
Only if the unit is extremely warm or too hot to touch would there be an indication of a potential problem.

Hey Chris,
What is the model of the UPS? What is the serial number? They would be found on a white sticker with barcodes.
From those, I can figure out the date of manufacture. Sometimes if a UPS sits in a warehouse, not being used, the battery can dry up, and can have issues with heat. The battery might need to be replaced.
Thanks,
Shanon

It's not extremely hot nor too warm to touch. The warm part is the top of the UPS (near battery connector) and on the back-left side of the UPS.
Also, there's no sound/alarm or whatsoever coming from the UPS. Just silent, like there's nothing inside the UPS, which is a good thing I guess.
Hopefully the heat generated when the devices are off will not consume a lot of electricity.
