I have bought an APC CS350 to keep my modem on power during power breaks because I have a VOIP phone line at home. After a burglary we installed a home alarm system but the system should be able to call the emergency room if the alarm goes off during power breaks. If I also connect the DSL lines to the UPS, does this in any way influence the way of working of the modem/alarm?
And next to this: I'm thinking of extending my internet subscription with digital TV. Does connecting the DSL line to the UPS influence the quality of the TV signal?
Thanks in advance!
Rob

Hi Jon,
It's a BK350EI, is there a way to test the strength of the signal? You're right that the info delivered with the UPS states that the DSL ports are also surge protected.
Regards
Robert

Hi Rob,
One thing that I can see here is if the DSL signal that is being fed into your house is too weak. If you are planning to hook up the DSL line into the UPS, we need to make sure that it has a strong signal and that the UPS can actually support the DSL lines, do you have the exact model number of your UPS? The Phone/Modem/DSL port that you normally see on our UPS are surge protectors as well, and because of this there is a tendency that the signal weakens since it enters a surge suppression mechanism.
