Ups shutting down randomly

My apc back up BX1100C-IN shuts down randomly and a red continuous beep is heard with the green power button led turning red! It works fine on battery when i tested it switching off the power supply! I bought it today(July 21st 2020)! Also,should i give it a first 8 hr charge for it to work properly?

Hi,

Is the UPS beeping or is it a continuous tone? A continuous tone would indicate an overload state or possible internal fault. If the UPS is beeping with a flashing red LED that behavior is describe in the User's Guide on page 9.
