Hello!
is it possible to update the firmware on the Smart-UPS SMT2200 without installed batteries via a NMC2?
Faulty batteries have been removed. I am waiting for the delivery of new batteries.
Thanks for any help!

No, batteries must be in place to initiate a firmware update on the UPS. I would highly recommend you DON’T attempt to update the UPS via NMC.
Do so via the supplied APC (Proprietary) serial cable. If the unit is not in warranty you better have a hot spare / back out process in place!
You have a greater than 50% chance of bricking the UPS via Serial. You have a greater than 75% chance of bricking the UPS via NMC!
Follow the APC FAQ as to best practices relating to the firmware upgrade process and ensure your computer is setup correctly.
Good luck and let us know how things turn out.
NOTE: If the hardware is still under APC Warranty. The firmware upgrade process should be guided by APC Technical Support over the phone.
