Unexpected shutdown of SURT10000XLI

hello all, please see the attach file for the log and data event for your reference.
the other day the ups was down around 3:48am base on the data event and around 8:00am we just found out that the UPS was down and we power up the unit, unit is still working fine, Model: SURT10000XLI, so we call our vendor to check the ups and they found out nothing wrong with the unit, so my question in my mind why the ups was down if all the parameters is normal? base on the data and log event no power failure occur that time.
But i notice from the Data event the %Cap is something wrong, need you help to understand the data. Thanks in advance

but if there is a internal fault why is it the unit right now is working fine and the bypass LED doesnt light up.
I send already to the apc support but as of this moment i haven't receive a feedback so far. That why i try this forum if somebody can held me to understand base on the event i send. Also have you notice that from 07/24/2009 10:31:40 and 07/28/2009 03:47:06 in between there's no event was captured but if you can see from the data event you can see that all interval was captured.

Hi Hanz,

The event log not showing anything during that time period should be good since it means there were no problems with the UPS or the power during this time period. From these logs there is no way to tell exactly what the fault was. If it does happen again be sure to check the display on the unit and see if the fault LED is lit and if so what other LEDs are lit/flashing.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

i would suggest directly connecting to the UPS and retrieving the fault codes directly from it.

to do this:

1.) put the UPS into bypass mode if you can.
2.) remove the network management card
3.) obtain the APC smart signaling serial cable, part number 940-0024 or 940-1524 and connect it to the back of the UPS
4.) use the port settings of 2400, 8, none, 1 stop bit, no flow control and establish a connection with the UPS.
5.) do the following:
-Enter Shift-Y – This returns “SM”
-Enter 1, wait a second or two (do NOT hit enter after this), Enter 1 again – This returns “prog”
-Enter Ctrl-U – this returns the fault code

if you're able to get this, paste to us what the returned value is.
