UTS6H & UTS10Bl status

Perhaps I am missing something but are transfer switch models UTS6H and UTS10BI no longer available? They have been removed from the products pages on the APC website. Only models UTS6 & UTS6BI are listed. There is no notation as to why UTS6H and UTS10BI have disappeared from the listings.

It would be nice if APC would make an announcement as to the status of the UTS product line rather than have consumers guessing. Like when APC removed the generator outlet from panel, necessitating all switches to be be hardwired to an inlet box, and didn't disclose this significant change. I only found out about this alteration from reading a posting here from a consumer who was surprised to find the outlet missing when he received his switch.

Anyway, are these models now discontinued? I am hoping their removal from the products listing is only temporary. Although, I've checked around for the UTS6H and no one seems to have them in stock either nor the hardwire kit, which gives me an uneasy feeling that something is going on.

Yes, that is correct. But that page references the UTS6BI. It is one of the two models (the other being the UTS6) still available in the Wall-mounted Transfer Switch category. Once again, it's the UTS6H and UTS10BI that have disappeared and I am trying to find out about -- specifically, the UTS6H which is the model I am interested in purchasing.

i asked about this today. i believe UTS6H is only sold by Honda.

also, the models you asked about are still available but they have been taken off the website for a little but while their web pages are updated to the UL 3rd edition. a few things changed and we want to make sure that people are buying the newer units based on accurate specifications and documentation. i think they will be back up shortly.

Hey I'm new to the forum. I've been thinking about purchasing a UTS for years and one of the things that has held me back is the 20 amp fuse in the APC units. I had read about the 20 amp limitations on a thread you were answering while back and planned to revisit this in the future(well it's here) Has this changed?

I looked around on the threads and couldn't find anything saying the capability has changed and like the OP I have been going to the website and noticed the removal of some UTS. I recently did a simple google search for APC UTS 30amp you get a lot of hits. Are these units capable of handling 30amps in the 240v circuit? Thanks!

Thank you for the update.

Is there any available info on what the changes are to the 3rd Edition units to help identify the differences between the models? (To decide whether to grab an older model if I can find one or get the updated one.) And are the new 3rd Edition units going to have different model numbers so consumers will know if they are purchasing an older 2nd Edition or the new 3rd? Or, some other way to identify the newer units so I can ask a seller which edition they have in stock so I know what I am getting. Thanks.

Thanks for the definitive answer, If you have any pull over there in development a 30A fuse would be a big hit.

I found the UTS6H here:
http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=UTS6BI&tab=documentation

It doesn't say its discontinued, hence "Standard Lead Time: Usually in Stock" Apc is probably just probably doing some site maintenance. check back tomarrow, if its still not there im sure someone from apc will respond.
