USB to Serial adapter driver software for windows 7 64 bit

I recently purchaced a smart ups SC1500 and it came with a usb to serial adapter cable and a driver disk for that cable.

I am unable to get those drivers installed on my windows 7 64 bit OS.

The disk states that it is for win2k and xp and versions of linux.

Is there another verision of the software? My computer does not have a serial port so I have no other way of hooking up this ups to my computer.

Any help would be appreciated.

I had same problem with Windows 7. The drivers wouldn't install correctly. Got a different USB to Serial adapter specifically with drivers for Windows 7 32/64-bit, and it works fine.
