I'm having a problem with my Back-UPS RS 1000I shutting down before the hibernation process on my computer has been completed.
I have found that my system can take between 3.5 and 5 minutes to hibernate, but after a power outage the UPS seems to be shutting down about 2 minutes after instructing the system to hibernate. The consequence of this is that I lose any unsaved data and run the risk of my system being corrupted. Using PowerChute, I have set the UPS to begin hibernation 1 minute after loss of power, but even at that setting the hibernation process still does not get enough time to finish.
The interesting thing is that when power is restored and I reboot the system, PowerChute indicates that there is still over 60% battery capacity remaining, so I'm not sure why the UPS needs to shut down so quickly.
Is there any solution which would provide a little more time for my computer to hibernate properly?
I'm running PowerChute Personal Edition 2.1.1 under Windows Vista Ultimate.
