Hello. I own a APC Back UPS ES 550 that's a couple years old, and it recently just had a surge and reset everything plugged into it.
While inspecting it, I noticed that of the three indicator lights (blank, "power on", then "replace battery"), only the first indicator is lit.
Is this normal for just that first light and not the "power on" light to be on? Or is this a sign that the battery power isn't working?
Thanks!

Hi Brian,
I am a little confused on what you are describing by "blank". Can you get the exact model number for me located on the bottom on the unit on a white sticker so I know exactly what unit we are dealing with.
If it is the BE550G, the unit should have 1 LED to the right of the power button. This LED will be off if the unit is off, green if the unit is on and ready to provide protection, and red if the battery need to be replaced. If it is doing something else I would refer to the link below and look at the table next to the number 3.

There is a second LED on the side by the power cord. This is the building wiring fault. Check the knowledge base for possible reasons on why this might be lit.

In general, if you are thinking the unit might be malfunctioning I would turn the unit off, unplug it from the wall, and disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. After that re-attach everything and turn the unit on.
