UPS ES-450 causes intermittent reboots?

This is a weird problem that took me a long time to figure out, but for some reason when my computer is
plugged into my UPS it will randomly reboot every 1-3 days... and when this happens, it will keep rebooting
until I remove all power from it and let it sit for an hour or so...

...if I plug the computer directly into the wall outlet, this does not happen.

I did a search and found a post from 09 where someone else described this same situation but unfortunately
there wasn't any solution...

...does anyone have any idea what could be causing this and/or how I can fix it?

try to see the energy options in the control panel, also install the powerchute software to see the load and time remaining, i think that a 450va ups is small for your core i5 system
you can download the software from apc.com in case you dont have the disk

hey - thanks for the response...

...i checked the energy/power options in the control panel...what exactly am I looking for? nothing popped out at me as unusual... i went through all the options in the advanced tree and
couldn't see weird...

...also, as i did this i realized that using the word "reboot" is misleading because what's actually hapenning is my computer is crashing... it's powering off then instantly and then trying
to restart...

...i've been running the APC powerchute software and took a look through it again... it kind of seems like what's happening is that whenever the battery "takes over" it causes
the computer to crash... (and that the battery takes over in situations that the wall outlet doesn't cause any noticeable effects) ...which is fine... i understand that I could decrease
the sensitivity of the battery but I assume that would just defer to this problem until a more major wall outlet loss...

..i am definitely not running out of power... the battery stays charged at about 44 minutes of power...and the electrical disturbances have lengths of 10 seconds...

...any thoughts?

does the battery cause some computers to crash? if so, is that a fundamental problem with my system or is there a way for me to fix it?

Your Computers Powersuppy Cant Seem To Handle A Step-Aproximated Sine Wave

aha...okay...so i'll replace the power-supply...is there an easy to identify one that
should be able to handle this? thanks for the info!

If nothing else kicks out when you pull the ups'es main power , its the cheap powersupply (and a computers psu should be able to handle the s-a Sine Wave
