Two quick beeps, flashing replace battery

Hi, I have a BE650R-CN and it just recently started beeping. The LED flashes red (replace battery), and the unit emits two quick beeps per cycle. I seem to have misplaced my original documents but have downloaded from the website. The closest indications I can find from the manual is for battery capacity low, indicated by two quick beeps but with flashing power on (green). Or for battery replacement indicated by flashing replace battery, but with constant tone. I can believe it may be time to replace the battery as it has been several years. I would just like to confirm that is the correct issue before I proceed.

Thank you all for your assistance.

No, this unit was just for my personal PC, and the only UPS in the household. Unfortunately, the trade system will not suit me at the moment. Any of the models that would be appropriate for me are out of stock. And I can't even downgrade to a unit that would still suit my needs, that is in stock. For now, I guess I'll have to forego the luxury of UPS and just run with a standard surge protector.

Thanks for the assistance fellas.

Matthew,

The UPS will emit a constant tone with flashing Green and Red LEDs(alternating) after a Self Test if it requires a replacement battery. The symptom which you described does not apply to the Replacement Battery situation. Do you have Power Chute software installed on your Computer to monitor the UPS status? If so, could you please check the UPS status when it does behave like the way you described? If possible, perform the self test with normal load attached by switching it off and on. The UPS performs the self test as soon as you switch on the UPS. If the battery is fine, then the green light will be lit after the self test. If it needs to be replaced, then Green and Red LEDs(flashing alternating) will be lit with a constant tone.

Unfortunately I never installed the software, nor do I have the cable to do so now. I'm usually very good with keeping everything I don't use together in the original packaging, but somehow all that I have in the box is the packing styrofoam.

The UPS goes through the power-on process fine (as far as I can tell) and comes back initially with the green light. But after a second or two it begins chirping and flashing red. This is constant, even when I have no load. This began initially last night with no apparent cause (I was on the computer as normal and it just started). All outlets still continue to supply power during this process as long as the UPS is plugged in. If I unplug the UPS power is no longer supplied by the battery outlets.

If there's anything else I can do to help diagnose this situation, please let me know. Thank you for your help.

Matthew,

As I said, the UPS will emit a constant tone with "flashing Green and Red LEDs(alternating)" after the Self Test if it requires a replacement battery. My suspicious is that the unit is having some circuitry issue. So I recommend you to consider trading this unit to a new unit instead of replacing the battery. The APC Trade ups program is designed as a cost effective program for customers to upgrade existing ups models to new technologies offered by APC ups product lines.Under this program, customers may trade in old ups units (or other manufacturers' units) for new APC units with a full 2 or 3 year comprehensive warranty at substantial discounts. This program effectively extends the customer's product warranty while continually upgrading old ups systems with new units. In an effort to protect our environment, APC will handle the proper disposal of your old unit (APC even pays for the return shipping of your old unit).

Matthew,

Do you have any other working BE650R-CN on your end? If you do, you can try to swap out the batteries and see if it'll do the same thing. If it does, I suggest that you follow what Techie has recommended, doing the Trade-UPS.
