The UPS unit failed to update itself and would not start.

I am using SMT1500RMJ2U.
I confirmed that I could update the firmware via NMC2 and performed the firmware update on the UPS itself, but it was showing "updating" for about 2 hours, so I thought it was strange and foolishly unplugged the unit.
I plugged it back in, but the LCD panel is not showing anything, only the backlight is on.

Fortunately, I was able to access the NMC2 and tried to recover from it, but the popup saying that it was updating would not close forever.

Is there any way to recover?

Thank you for reaching out to the SE Community, my name is Jon and I will assist you with this query.  I am sorry to hear about the issue that you are experiencing with the UPS.

I am hoping that you would still recover and fix the firmware issue on the UPS by using the SmartUPS Firmware Upgrade Wizard from the FAQ article provided below.  This would require you to connect to the UPS directly using an interface cable.

I tried everything, but could not get ROM flash.

It was not possible to connect a USB Type B cable.
It may be possible to use a serial cable, but I do not own one and would like to know the model number of the corresponding cable.
The help page only lists AP9827, and I am having trouble.

If the serial port of your UPS is the RJ45 type you can use a 6ft and 15ft cable and I have listed their part numbers below.
