I have a APC XS 1300 and a APC Back-UPS 550 each running a separate computer system. Because of space and lack of available wall outlets I have the plugged into a APC surge protector. I doing some research today for another project I ran across a discussion here saying it is a bad idea to have a ups plugged into a serge protector. But on countless other sites and articles I read on line they say this can actually be a benefit, because you can purchase serge protectors with higher ratings than APC's UPS. Anyway I have been doing this for years and we even had a electrical problem on a street a few years back, most of my neighbors lost their computers due to the malfunction, but not me. SO not I even thing of getting a better serge protector for my set up.
Comments, Advice.
Thanks

our policy on daisy chaining UPSs and surge protectors are noted in the knowledge base. check http://www.apc.com/site/support/index.cfm/faq/ and search for FA157424 - it mentions UPSs but most of it applies to surge protectors too.
