Hi. Sometimes UPS turns off randomly while on battery power and LEDs on the left side of buttons start blinking. I have to turn it on again by pressing the test button. Is it related to batteries or fault in UPS?

Hi @Anonymous user,
Thank you for using the SE Community!
I am sorry to hear about the issue that you are having with the APC UPS, let me assist you on this. It is most likely that the UPS has encountered an internal hardware failure, for some of our customers were able to recover from the fault by doing a full logic reset or what we call the brain dead procedure. I have provided the procedure below and have included the FAQ on where you can find it.
For SU, SUA, SUM, or SURT Units:
1) Turn off and unplug UPS from the wall
2) Press and hold the OFF button again (Alternately, you could disconnect the internal battery)
3) You may see a quick flash of the LED's and you should hear an audible ""click"" from the UPS.
4) Plug UPS back into the wall and turn UPS back on
How to perform a cold start and brain dead on Smart-UPS
If the UPS wouldn't recover from the fault, I am sorry to hear but it needs to be replaced.
