did you change the sensitivity to low already? are you able to access the unit via software/network management card to confirm the firmware versions on the UPS itself?

The only way to know for sure what unit you have is by checking the model number printed on the small white sticker on the rear of the unit. The bezel isn't always accurate, especially since sometimes people swap bezels around.

That's the UPS you have then. ๐Ÿ™‚ If that's all you wanted then you're set!

Though if you're trying to get PCBE to display the model correctly... Let's take a look at some more info.

Does the serial # displayed in PCBE match the serial below the model number you obtained?

Uou seem to be running an outdated version of PCBE (7.0.5). The current version is 8.0.1, so an update may be in order. Also, verify you're using the correct serial cable - what's the model number on the cable?

Per the screenshot you provided, you are using agent version 7.0.5.108. Please uninstall the PCBE agent, console, and server from Add/Remove Programs and download the latest version of the software here.

Hi Mujeeb,

I notice that this unit is 7 years old according to the serial number. How long have you been using this unit? Did you repair the unit?

My suspicious is that the original circuit board might have been replaced with the Smart UPS 1400 XL UPS circuit board.

oh ok..as i said, the circuit board of the unit might have been replaced by the refurbish personal. You do not need to worry if the unit is working normally since the unit is refurbished.

The UPS will transfer to battery mode whenever the input power is not within acceptable range in order to protect the connected equipment. For your information, Generators are not rated or designed to handle non-linear loads such as computer equipment or other electronic equipment. Using non-linear loads with a smaller generator will result in the output waveform of the generator to be much distorted. This distortion combined with variance in the frequency of the output power will most likely result in the UPS constantly operating On-Battery or frequently transferring back and forth from On-Line to On-Battery. To prevent voltage distortion and complications with a UPS, the generator must be selected so that it will supply the peak current required by the computer load, not only the average current. It has been determined experimentally that this typically requires that the generator have a rating at least 2 to 3 times the rating of the entire load to be connected to the generator. However, due to wide differences in output impedance for generators, it is not possible to specify an over sizing factor that guarantees compatibility with all systems. You may need to check the Generator to see if the output waveform is not distorted too much. Consult the Generator company for their opinions.
