you need to use powerchute business edition, NOT personal edition. personal edition is only for Back UPS and you have a Smart UPS.

I would like the use this SUA 1500 IPS only on one computer at present time. The Power Shute Business edition installed OK, but it requires a network connection and I don't have a network card installed.
I would like to use the personnel edition of the software only for this one computer and use the USB connection.
Checking the device manager on the computer , it sees the UPS and appears to have the correct drivers for this device as well for the usb port. I don,t understand, this SAU 1500 was purchased without at network card and from that I would assume I should be able to configure and run it as a stand alone UPS, meaning a version of power shut software should work with this unit as a stand alone UPS. Please advise.

powerchute business edition does not need a network connection if you install everything on the same computer the UPS is connected to.
what i would suggest is that you remove any powerchute personal edition and then install just the power chute business edition agent portion of the software.
when you do this, you'll access and manage it via the web browser but you are only browsing to your local computer - thus no network required. you'd install it then go to a web browser and access it by typing in the loopback address - https://127.0.0.1:6547 and then a web page comes up for management from your local computer.
