Hi APC,
I was at a customer's site (in South FL "Lightning Land") where they had a low cable signal issue. To resolve that, Comcast ran a new line from the street box into the building. As I was servicing a PC issue, I noticed that Comcast had disconnected the in-line Protectnet PV I had installed several years ago between cable the wall outlet and the cable "modem" (it's grounded via the receptacle's cover plate screw (metal)).
I now notice that the in-line version of the "Protectnet PV" product appears to have been discontinued. perhaps the Comcast tech knows something that I don't? Should I remove the PV's that I have installed at other locations (including my own office)?
I look forward to your reply.
Regards . . .

The Protectnet PV will cause some signal degradation due to the surge circuitry. This can cause issues for those customer's who have poor signal to begin with.
That being said, data-lines are very susceptible to electrical coupling and can easily cause equipment damage if left unprotected.
