Hi!
I use a servo-motor AVR for a small (Atom+ION) HTPC. It does its job perfectly, kicking in quickly enough to protect the HTPC against split-second outages, but it seems I need something for more serious power failures. I have an older Back-UPS ES left around the house (from before I upgraded to a Smart-UPS for my main PC) and I am tempted to use it in a power line > AVR > Back-UPS > HTPC configuration.
Would this setup be advisable?
I know APC advises against using Surgeprotector + UPS configurations, but I am wondering about this particular AVR > UPS setup.
Thanks in advance.

i don't think we can advise any daisy chaining really including our products because it would not be approved or tested by UL. the UPS is supposed to be directly connected to a wall outlet/AC power source. if something happens, you may run into an issue if you need to file an equipment protection policy report or warranty claim so please be advised. besides those things, as long as there is no risk with connecting these together physically without cutting plugs, etc i think it'd be ok if you keep in mind the capacity of everything involved but i officially wouldn't advise it based on what i said above.
