I woke up this morning to a persistent beeping and alerted my husband that the BX1500LCD under his desk was acting up. It displayed error code F01. I had tried turning it off and back on again and the error code remained. He turned it off, waited 30 seconds, turned it back on and a huge surge hit the server that was plugged into it and made a loud noise. Neither the server nor his PC were on at the time. He tested his PC and it turned on. He did not test the server.
I don't think we are under warranty as our manufacture date is 9/08. He is pretty sure he registered the unit and he will be looking for the purchase information later today.
We don't know the extent of the damage at this point but my concern is that the server is "fried". If anything, the power supply blew.
If he cannot find the warranty information, do we have any means of recourse? I'd really rather not pay out of pocket for damage that was clearly caused by the APC unit.
Thank you for your help.

Hi Steph,
I agree with what our technical support has done on your case. Kindly follow the instructions that was given to you by the agent and provide the details of the event on the questionnaires that you will get. Once we receive the unit, it will be tested to find out if that was the culprit.

A note - my husband did register for the warranty but we both think it is out of the three years, he hasn't found the sales slip yet. He called support and they are sending him out what he needs for the EPP and a new unit. So far so good. This takes a lot of my anxiety away, though we know it will be a waiting game with the EPP.
