Hi,
I just connected my APC to a switch but I do not know how to communicate with it (what is the default address?) The default username/password is apc/apc, correct? After this I wish to set up SNMP traps. Does anyone know how to set up on my machine?
Thanks.
DAN

you probably want to start here:
[take a look at this article|http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3061]
the NMC doesnt have an IP by default, it works on DHCP/BootP out of the box. you have to have a DHCP cookie configured on your DHCP server (option 43) for the network management card to accept a DHCP address. you can disable it but you need to log into the card to do so.
follow those instructions on how to configure the management card.
for SNMP, you just need to enter the correct information required by the NMC for your SNMP to work - such as community name, NMS IP and read/write access.
let us know, once you access the card if you have any trouble setting it up. it should be mostly straight forward once you log in.
this manual may help too: http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/ASTE-6Z5QEW_R0_EN.pdf and double check the help file on the card itself.
hope this helps!
