Hello, if you look at the run-time charts on APC's website for the Back-UPS line, it shows very different figures between the avaiable 1500VA models:
http://www.apc.com/products/runtime_for_extendedruntime.cfm?upsfamily=23
At 800W the BR1500LCD gives less runtime that the BR1500 (4 min vs. 6 min), but at 50W, the BR1500LCD gives more (2hrs56min vs. 2hrs20min).
The web-site also has a section where you can compare runtime across models by entering a specific load:
http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=BR1500&tab=compare&list=BR1500;BR150...;
At 10W, the BR1500LCD gives nearly twice as much runtime as the BR1500 (12hrs1min vs. 6hrs19min) which seems unbelievable.
Can someone please confirm whether this makes sense, and if so how it makes sense? I am interested in a very low-load scenario of 10W with the BR1500LCD and I want to make sure I can rely on these figures.
Thanks.

hi,
the two models, even though they have a 1500VA rating are different "form factors" meaning that they arent based on the same internal workings, chassis, etc
they also use two totally different replacement batteries. the BR1500LCD model is a newer design.
i can say that i have a very small load (maybe about 10 watts- a phone and an alarm clock) on my very own BR1500LCD and it tells me i have ~768 minutes of runtime which is about 12.8 hours.
hope this helps.
