We have owned two BP500 CLRs for about 10 years and are now replacing both of the Apple Mac g4 computers they protected.
Both batteries have been replaced once and need replacing again.
Should we replace just the batteries (about $60-$75 for 2) or buy new backup units?
I'm not sure what wattage/VA range to buy in a replacement UPS but we each now have Mac Book Pros
connected to am Ethernet switch, DSL router, and HP all-in-one printer/fax/copier/scanner (HP 7310).
Which two UPSes should we get for good auto-shutdown protection?
Do we need Pros to get the auto-shutdown?
Thanks,
Jon

most UPSs provide auto-shutdown besides BE350G i think.
if BP500CLR is working fine with your new set up, just stay in the same VA range unless you want more runtime. you could trade in your current units towards a new UPS (and get a discount) and then get a new UPS with new battery and 3 year warranty on both UPS and battery.
a unit to check out might be BE550G. if you want a LCD screen on the UPS and a few other features like Automatic Voltage Regulation, check out the current Pro models: http://www.apc.com/products/family/index.cfm?id=27
