My APC UPS takes an RBC17 replacement battery. Can I use the Cyberpower RB1290 battery I have on hand?
They’re both 12 V, 9 Ah. The dimensions are almost (but not exactly) the same: 2.56 x 3.70 x 5.94 in for the RBC17 and 2.56 x 3.86 x 5.94 for the RB1290. The RBC17 is a bit lighter: 5.71 lb vs 6.06 lb.
Thank you.

Yes, based on what you stated up above that’s more than fine. Ensure you date the replacement install on the battery. If your unit has the ability to enter the battery replacement date please do so as this resets the internal counters and charging algorithms.
If the system has the option to complete a battery calibration do so once the batteries are 100% charged. You’ll need at least 30% connected load to complete this process (IF) available.
If none of these options are available and present just let the UPS complete its internal Self Test.
Rock On . . . 🤘
