Can someone please help me and, by the way, please consider me computer illiterate.
I came home to find the red & green lights on my APC back-UPS NS 700 flashing alternately. There is no beeping. Does this mean the battery is dying? If so, how do I disconnect the battery? Do I press the Master Enable button, unplug everything from the battery and then unplug the battery from the wall outlet?

LOL - based on the lack of replies I guess once I figure out how to disconnect this unit safely I'll never buy another one.

Thank you for your response, Cristian. I get a little frantic when I read instruction papers that have Caution! Warning! all over them.
I just want to shut off the unit and unplug it so I can temporarily plug in a regular surge protector bar. I used the company's chat feature and I believe the off switch is actually the green light. Naturally they have a symbol (circle with slash) rather than the words On/Off.
Again, thanks for replying. Enjoy your day!

sorry elizabeth i was sleeping lol , you can try changing the sensitivity to low in powerchute , if that don't work try removing battery and press "on" button without battery , wait a minute and then put again the battery , if that not work you will need to call an official service to repair hardware,
regards.
