Random long beeps

I have a new Back UPS 600.  It emits intermittent, random, constant beeps.  When it beeps the indicator light is amber.  It seems to beep more when the computer processing requirements go up.  It doesn't beep when the computer is sleeping.  It may not beep for a few minutes, then I do something and it has long intermittent beeps that may last anywhere from a few seconds to a minute.

I bought this unit because I had an old BACK UPS ES 725 that just started a long continuous beep that wouldn't stop.  I figured it died so I bought the 600.

Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening?
