Hi,
I woke up in the middle of the night to find my UPS making two small beeps every five seconds. All 4 LEDs are flashing when it beeps.
The only way I could get my computer on was to do the "brain dead" thing I read in the APC knowledge base (about taking the battery out, holding the button down, putting the battery back in and turning it on).
As soon as I turn off the computer though, it starts its beeping/flashing process again. I'm not able to restart the UPS when it's in this stage. I'm also not able to turn the computer on. (The computer does power up and the UPS stops flashing/beeping, however the computer then just dies 30secs later).
I've read about similar issues with other APC UPSs but I couldn't find a case with this exact issue..
Is this thing dead? 😕

can you please confirm the exact model off of the UPS off the little white sticker on the back or bottom of the UPS? I am assuming this is a BK500?
would you consider this a chirp rather than a beep?
based on the symptoms if its a "chirp," this would most likely indicate a battery charger fault warning and unfortunately would need to be replaced.
