Ok, here's some info/background.
I had what I think was a brown out (seemed like it was only the outlet connected to my computer stuff) about an hour ago. The battery backup didn't seem to go on at all. The computer just lost power. I made sure PowerChute was installed and it says the backup was working fine. I tested the battery on a lamp and it worked fine. I am running Vista and tried to run a self-test, and the computer shut down what looked like about 1/3 - 1/2 way through it.
Any suggestions on what to test/what may be the problem would be welcome.

rau is right.
another thing i thought of - in powerchute does it tell you how many watts the UPS is providing? the BK350 (CS 350) only provides a max of 210 watts. has the UPS ever gone into overload? maybe you just don't have a lot of runtime on battery because you are close to 100% load.

Testing a battery on a lamp is not a good way to tell if a battery is good or not, not measuring it's voltage. When batteries are beginning to be worn out or are already worn out, its starts loosing the capacity for outputing the required amperage. It migh still run a small device or a lamp, since these devices require very low current, but when higher amperage is requested, the battery dies very fast.
It seem the battery of your unit is worn out. How old is your UPS?
