I've got 3 Back-ups 500 CS UPS' . One is installed on my Windows 2003 Advanced Server PC, One on XP PC, and one installed on Windows Vista(all versions are the latest).
In Powerchute PE installed on 2003 Advanced Server I've got tabs/information for 'System Monitor' which allows for such functions as 'Check Battery'. In Powerchute PE for XP and Vista, this option appears very briefly on startup, then it disappears. Why does this happen? Any ideas?

worked for XP... still having problems with Vista. Logged in as Administrator, right clicked installed as administrator, right click run as administrator, still no 'check battery' options.

Andrew,
Have you tried following this K-Base to see what access permissions are set as? Even though that K-Base refers to the installation going awry, it could help in trying to troubleshoot the overall problem.
