Hi,
been reading the threads on PowerChute and Vista (32).
I have a BE550R and have the problem "unable to communicate with the battery backup" when Vista takes a nap.
It's easy to understand, since the USB powers down.
So not exactly sure of what work arounds solve this problem...
Here are the ones I read about :
1. disable power management of the USB hub (disable Selective Suspend)
2. disable Hibernation
Not sure what exactly is the best workaround so the PC will turn off if Powerchute tells it to, any suggestions ?
thanks !

Chances are, there is none. If you're putting the PC to sleep you're disabling any type of communication between the UPS and the PC.

I meant USB Hub under System Devices in Vista (not an external hub).
what is the recommended workaround to make powerchute control Vista when it sleeps ?

1. If you disable Hibernation, when the PCPE software decides to do a graceful unattended shutdown, it will pretty much crash your system.
2. If you disable power management (you said USB Hub...do you mean physically a USB hub that's downstream from your primary USB ports? Because that will DEFINITELY introduce a point of failure), then your USB ports remain active, thus, never losing comm.
