Power Chute 3.0.2 have all options greyed out

First of all, hello to everyone here, honestly I am not used a lot to UPS and PowerChute but have been using the basics until now, the last check was less than a year ago

Then suddenly (as far as I remember), when I tried to use Power Chute every option appeared greyed out in the aplication running over Windows 10.

First if I open the program I see obviously almost every Option Tab greyed Out like this:

Image 0728_140745.png

Ok, then I connect any UPS and the program recognizes it BUT even if the Options in the Tab are now "Available", the Options within are still greyed out like this:

PowerChute1.PNGPowerChute2.PNG

I have no clue what the reason could be, searched for info since Monday and still can't figure it out, there are mention of specific options in some topics but not all of them like this

Can anyone please guide me on what to check? Could it be compatibility issue? Aplication Permissions? Any Option I am missing maybe? I will gladly add more info if needed but I am clueless on what to do. Thanks.

First of all thanks a lot for the replys, honestly I wasn't able to find any relevant info before so I asked here and I am glad I got some answers.

For now I will wait until I get a new cord then, since it seems to be the cause of the issue and I hope it is because if not I have no clue

Hi,

The first issue was caused by the UPS not connected to the computer. The second issue appear the UPS is connected but PowerChute cannot determine the model. If you open PowerChute and go to the Technical Data page is the correct model and serial number displayed?

If it is not you should shutdown the computer and brain dead the UPS. See Schneider Electric FAQ FA158947 for assistance with the brain dead procedure. Once the UPS has been restarted, restart the computer.

Hello, first of all thanks a lot for the answer, you are my only hope at this point.

I checked what you asked but the UPS is recognized by PowerChute

Image 0729_160705.png

I took the screenshot and those ARE NO the Model and Serial of the 2 UPS I tried but as you can see PowerChute instantly recognize a UPS has been connected and the option panels turn on (still with the sub-options greyed out),

This happens with 3 different units so it doesn't seem like an UPS specific problem and more like a general problem with the software or some blocked option/permission but I have no idea what could it be.

What I am missing is doing a full uninstall, deletting all related folders and running Ccleaner to clean the registry, then installing all over again and see if something changes but a re-install already didn't solve the issue.

Any other thing to check? Thanks a lot for the guidance!

Could it be by change the USB-ETH cord not working properly or damaged? I don't have any other right now to test it but this one doesn't seem to be bruised anyway.

Also would it recognize a UPS connected, but not being able to fully receive the other data from it?

@Anonymous user,

Yes to both questions. A damaged cable will cause communications issues.

When PowerChute is installed, it polls the UPS to determine the model and firmware. The model and firmware determine what features PowerChute will present. The screenshot shows PowerChute is receiving some data. However, it does not appear to be receiving all data points.
