Hello,
I've had an Backup-UPS XS900 for a few years now and recently it's been giving me trouble. I've had a pop-up appearing on my screen telling me that the battery is disconnected and that I am vulnerable to a power outage. After a few seconds, the PowerChute icon in the lower right corner will let me know that everything is okay again. Of course a few seconds later I get the same error and it is a constant cycle. If I look at the UPS the "Replace Battery" light is constantly blinking.
I have taken out the battery and put it back in ensuring that the connectors are properly connected but the problem does not go away. Is there any other troubleshooting I could do to see if the problem is with the UPS or the battery? I don't mind ordering another battery if the old one is bad, but I would hate to buy a new battery only to discover that the UPS is really the part at fault.
Any help would be appreciated. Just in case it helps in any way, the SN of the unit is QB0539238854.
Thanks.
Roberto

Thank you for your insight. It makes sense to me that the UPS is likely the part at fault, and since the UPS is a few years old now I'll probably go about replacing it.
Thanks again.

Hi Roberto,
It doesn't sound as if the problem is with the battery. It definitely seems more isolated to the UPS. It's possible that the UPS's battery sensor has gone awry and that's what's not allowing it to see the battery all the time. There is a small chance it could be the battery, but I'm not sure ordering a battery would be a cost-effective solution (because if it's not the battery, chances are you'll get hit with a restocking fee depending on where you order the RBC from).
